Remember when we talked about Stress and Life Balance back in Lesson 7?

Now we’re going to turn to a different type of balance: physical balance and stability.

It’s easy to take balance and stability for granted when you are young and fit. But there will come a time when balance becomes a concern.

You might feel mild trepidation when walking over uneven ground.

You might notice slight unsteadiness if you turn too quickly or while bending over to pick something up off of the floor.

And this fear may get in the way of performing activities that help you maintain balance and stability. You can get stuck in a vicious cycle of losing-it because you aren’t using-it.

While we don’t recommend activities that might put you at risk for injury, there are simple, safe strategies for maintaining—and even improving—balance and stability.

In this article, we’ll cover some ways to add balance and stability exercises into your MOVE strategy so that you can have the confidence to perform any activity you want, whenever you want.
