You eat what you see!
In a perfect world, your home is a sanctuary where you are surrounded by healthy food.
However, partners, families, and roommates will have their own ideas about what they want to eat.
Try these tips to keep control of your home food environment:
- Talk to family or roommates about the important changes you’re trying to make, and how they can support your goals. Even if you can enlist only one family member—it’s a win.
- One strategy that we’ve seen work is to bargain with your housemates about bringing in foods that they like, but that won’t be tempting for you. Maybe you love chocolate ice cream—but you can’t stand maple walnut. If your roommate loves maple walnut, then great, they can load up!
As with any change, creating a healthy home environment can take time. But once you have it figured out it becomes surprisingly easy to maintain.
