You might remember that the PowerME™ Vitality Program started with Finding Your Why.

There is a reason for this.

Motivation is boosted by good results—that feeling of pleasure when you accomplish your goal. Positive results support a positive mindset. And a positive mindset is critical for maintaining motivation.

What’s the best way to create a positive mindset? Taking part in activities that support your why.

It’s no surprise that people who can make lifestyle changes permanent are the ones who find ways to connect with their core motivation and keep it front of mind.

Here are some ways to connect (or reconnect) with your why.

  • Take some time this week and think about your core motivation.
  • What was your mindset when you decided to take on lifestyle changes? Why are you doing this?
  • If you haven’t figured out your core motivation, now is the time to do so.
  • As you now know, we’re big fans of journaling, which just happens to be a great way to firm up your core motivation.

If you ever find motivation fading, get off the hamster wheel and noodle on your core motivation. Just a few minutes of journaling a day can help you recapture the spark you had at the start.

Give it a try—it really works!
