Here are some recommended strategies that we covered in previous lessons: 

  • If you are struggling with changing your diet, what can you do to surround yourself with healthy options that you like and raise barriers for products that you are trying to avoid? 
  • If the problem is stress, how can you address the stressful issues—maybe not today or tomorrow, but in the days and weeks to come? Simply having a plan is good therapy. 
  • What can you do to improve your sleep environment? 
  • What are some changes you can make to encourage activity and exercise?  

Of course, there will be things that you can’t change today. But what can you change? Even a small move in the right direction will help give you some momentum down a better path.  

Setting up your environment to nudge healthy behavior is like setting up your 401K. Do the upfront work and the rest is automatic.
