Food journaling is straightforward.

You simply record the food you eat and the beverages you drink throughout the day. There’s no right or wrong way to do it.

Some people will use a notebook or a food tracking application (such as MyFitnessPal or Lose It).

For the PowerME program, there are a number of options for food journaling from electronic tools to gold old pen and paper. Talk with your coach about options.

We recommend that you KEEP IT SIMPLE. Don’t worry about counting calories, macros, or micros unless you want to.

Journaling is POWERFUL because it makes you MINDFUL, which contributes to better eating decisions and greater success.

After you eat, take a few moments to record what you’ve eaten—what and how much.

You can visualize your palm as a ‘serving size’ to get a general idea of how much food you are consuming.

It isn’t terribly accurate, but will be consistent for you and give you a reference point as you become more aware of your food choices.
