Advice to eat less has been around for centuries. It is also the reason why so many people fail in their battle against obesity and metabolic disease. 

Just thinking about eating less creates feelings of loss and deprivation. And trying to use willpower and self-control to eat less has never worked for long. 

Yet, there are ways to eat smaller portions without intentionally trying to eat less.  

It takes some set-up, but many of our patients have had success using the simple strategy of small plates.
