These kind of recommendations aren’t terribly helpful—a lot like advice to drink water, and chew your food.

While there are a few people who think that four hours of sleep is enough, they’re probably too tired to listen to reason anyway.

Don’t try to be that person.

It can be hard to know if you are feeling tired because you aren’t getting enough sleep, or due to some other cause.

If you are tired during the day and aren’t sure why, here are three simple questions to ask yourself:

  2. When I go to sleep at night, do I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow?
  3. Do I have periods during the day when I could put my head down and take a nap?

If you answer yes to all of these questions, there is a good chance that you are sleep deprived.

And if you aren’t getting enough sleep, the next obvious question is: Why not?

One reason may simply be the way you are genetically wired…
