One of the concerns that some patients express as they near the end of the Vitality Program is boredom.
“What if I get bored with my diet?”
“Won’t exercising everyday just become a slog?”
We get it. Everyone has their own tolerance for tedium.
And yet habits are different. If you’re working out consistently, eating your healthy diet, and getting to bed on time, eventually it won’t seem boring. It won’t seem like anything. It’s a habit.
If you can rely on your autopilot you will free up mental resources for the activities that you want to do, rather than expending precious cognitive energy trying to overrule those primitive impulses we’ve been talking about (we see you chunky-monkey ice cream).
