DEXA can give you precise measurements of bone, fat, and lean mass and is the primary method that doctors use to screen for osteoporosis. 

In PowerME™, we recommend DEXA for checking the following body comp metrics: 

  • Lean Mass: Includes muscles, as well as organs, and other non-fat tissues. 
  • Fat Mass: The amount of fat in your body, which can be broken down into two important components: subcutaneous fat and visceral fat. More on that in a bit. 
  • Bone Mineral Density: This refers to the minerals in your bones that contribute to their strength and your health.
