Unlike eating and energy, you don’t have a storage system when it comes to sleep. From an evolutionary perspective, you never needed one.

One bad night of sleep isn’t going to hurt you. Your body is amazingly robust and you should be able to shake off even a few difficult nights. But you can’t pack away sleep credits, so it’s not a good idea to forgo sleep and try to catch up on the weekend. It’s much better to have consistent sleep throughout the week.
