CGM can also provide you with insights into how exercise can affect your blood glucose readings.

For example, you will likely find that a 30-minute Zone 2 walk after dinner will help to blunt a rise in blood sugar.

You’ll also notice during an intense workout that your blood sugar will go up, even though you haven’t eaten anything.

This may seem counterintuitive, but It’s just your liver’s way of managing your energy needs—and it is totally normal.

Our point is that it will take some time to understand how your system reacts to eating, exercise, sleep and stress.

So, be prepared for some unpredictability.

As powerful as it is, CGM only scratches the surface when it comes to the full complexity of our metabolic processes.

And as always, check with your coach or healthcare provider if you have any questions or concerns.
