Not only does fiber feed our microbiome, but it can moderate our intake by making us feel fuller and by reducing our absorption of calories.  

Here are our thoughts on fiber: 

  • For optimum health, we recommend eating natural fiber—which means incorporating plants into your diet. 
  • You get fiber from plants—not animals.
  • Even if you don’t care for fruits or vegetables, there are probably at least some plants that you don’t mind.  
  • The greatest benefits come from eating a wide range of plants—your microbiome will appreciate the variety. 

There are so many benefits to fiber in reducing our risk of chronic disease, you need to find a way to eat plants!
