Consider a banana.

Bananas are a whole food and people with reasonable metabolic flexibility shouldn’t have problems metabolizing a banana.

But how do you know?

Some people will see a significant blood sugar spike after eating a banana—but do fine with half a banana.

They wouldn’t know without real-time readings from their CGM. We simply don’t have the ability to feel our blood sugar rising.

A CGM will also give you insights into combining foods in ways  that will moderate your blood sugar response. You’ll see that eating high-fiber foods or drinking water with your meals will help keep your blood sugar down.

It takes time to gain nutritional insight (typically a month or so), yet the data that you get from CGM can be very helpful for developing a personalized diet.
