As we’ve said before, strength does not mean big. It can, but it doesn’t have to. In fact, you can increase muscle size and not necessarily be a lot stronger for it.
The flip side is true as well. You can get strong—really strong—without having to carry around massive biceps.
Gaining strength affects physical function on many levels. From opening a jar of pickles, to lifting a suitcase into an overhead bin on an airplane, to bending down to pick up a dog toy that’s under a chair—or even lifting the chair out of the way.
Physical health feels good and there is nothing better than having the confidence to perform daily tasks with ease.
