PROS: It can give you insight into your sleep duration and quality of sleep and can be helpful in keeping you accountable for getting to bed and getting up consistently.

CONS: Many of the metrics with regards to sleep cycles are not very precise—although, they are getting better. Some people find that monitoring their sleep makes matters worse.

OUR GRADE: C+. Despite advances, many of these products lack precision; however, more options with greater accuracy will no doubt be available in the near future. As technology advances, so will the opportunity to use wearables to provide meaningful insights into your sleep. If used as a behavioral change and accountability tool, sleep tracking can be another tool in your toolbox.
