PROS: The most beneficial technologies in the domain of stress management today are the tools that help with self-care. There are excellent apps for meditation, social support, and biofeedback that we discussed in the Stress and Balance lesson. 

CONS: Technology for measuring and monitoring stress is in its infancy and companies that promote products that accurately measure stress are being disingenuous. 

OUR GRADE: C. There may be a point in the future where your smart device can more accurately provide real-time, stress-related feedback, letting you know when it’s time to chill—to take a walk, meditate, practice breathing exercises, or do some other self-care strategy. Or even better, automatically adjust your environment to help reduce an arousal state. No doubt there will be powerful tools to help you manage stress in the future, but for now, you’ll have to stay tuned.
