The squat is another functional movement. While young kids squat naturally and easily, it becomes challenging as you get older for the same reasons we discussed above. 

You’ve most likely heard that you shouldn’t lift with your back, but many of your movements are subconscious and all it takes is one wrong move to cause an injury. 

Adding squats to your exercise routine will help train your body to use the correct functional movement. Initially, it will require some self-awareness. But with time, your movement will become ingrained to all of your activities.
