One way to reduce our calorie intake is to eat food that is naturally low in energy, so even if you overeat, it isn’t a problem. 

Of course, this means eating a diet that is plant-based or heavily plant-forward. 

Imagine trying to eat a pound of broccoli. Even if you were super hungry, you’d really have to work at it. 

  • Pound of broccoli: Around 300 calories.  
  • One slice of pizza: Around 300 calories. And that’s not including the garlic bread. 

It’s hard to get too many calories from a plant-forward or plant-based diet. Not impossible—just really hard. That’s the friction.
