Your genotype is the blueprint for your body.

Your genotype reflects your potential response, based on your genetic analysis, to different aspects of nutrition and metabolic health (e.g., how different foods or macronutrients might affect you).

For example, one person may show an enhanced response to protein intake, while another person may show a normal or low response. A person with a low response may need to be more proactive to get adequate protein.

As another example, genomic testing may reveal that a person has an enhanced body composition response to strength training—while another person has a low response.

Again, these results may help you decide where you want to focus your lifestyle change efforts.

It’s important to keep in mind, however, that a genetic test does not imperatively determine how your system may or may not react.
