So why do these crazy people do it? To get in shape? To lose weight? For the T-shirt? 

Obviously, their reasons are their own, although mind-boggling to us.

Sure, endurance events are extreme. But they also epitomize what people can achieve with purpose directed by passion. 

We are not recommending that you train for Badwater, or even the PowerME™ Ultramarathon for that matter (partly because there isn’t one). We also acknowledge that extreme behavior, even for fitness, isn’t aways good for you.  

Our point is that purpose and meaning, however that looks to you, are at the core of a life well-lived.
